I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist and licensed Registered Nurse in Washington.
I have been in Health Care for over 50 years, initially practicing as a registered nurse and for the past 30 years as a clinical psychologist. I served my country as an LTJG in the US Navy Nurse
Corps during the Viet Nam War.I specialize in the treatment of pain, chronic illness, stress related disorders, post traumatic stress disorders, mood disorders including anxiety, depression including post partum depression and bipolar disorders; women’s issues, bereavement and end of life issues. I work with adolescents, adults and older adults.
As a Cognitive Behavioral Psychologist with an extensive and medical background, I work to challenge negative thought patterns one has about themselves, their relationships, their life circumstances, illnesses and how they see themselves in the world while understanding their individual stories in order to alter unwanted behaviors and/or states of being to relieve mental disorders causing dysfunction, discomfort, distress and assist in the relief of pain, both psychological and medical.
In addition to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I may include non-machine assisted biofeedback, mindfulness, meditation, psychological testing, life skills/personal management coaching, Physician referral for medical tests, medication, and physical evaluation as part of my treatment strategies.
I accept most insurance plans including Medicare and offer a sliding scale to those who pay privately, those without insurance and those who have Medicaid or cannot pay.
